I received a call from Marsha Carey on Friday evening with an invitation to the Benton County Boutique Crawl Fashion Show being held in Cole Camp on Saturday morning at 8:30 AM. While I am not big on getting up early, it sounded like fun so I grabbed my camera and took off.
The fashion show was held upstairs in the RiOaks building in Cole Camp and the owners had transformed the attic to a lovely venue set up with tables and decorations. I was sipping on a mimosa when I was approached by the different owners of various boutiques in Cole Camp welcoming me to their first fashion show.
First up was the owner of Palo Pinto in Lincoln, Becky Smith. I’ll admit I had noticed the business located on Highway 65 in Lincoln, but I had no idea that in the shop they sold western clothing, shoes and décor. I stopped on my way home and bought a pair of leopard shoes!
Bee Cherished Flowers and More owned by Heidi Westermier had little models who showed off cute clothes from size 0 up to pre-teens. Those were the cutest models and of course I had to go there after the show to purchase a few outfits for my little granddaughters and our newest grandson.
Handel Haus and Wine Women and Song, owned by Judy Smasal, featured unique clothing, jewelry and décor. Warsaw’s own Marsha Carey was one of the models for Wine, Women and Song. So of course, I stopped by those shops for a leopard top and some sparkly pants.
RiOak fashions were introduced by Ashley Raetz. I was surprised to learn that RiOak Western Designs had been a store in Cole Camp for 12 years with 3 years at the present location.
Heidi Mae Boutique was another interesting store with women’s fashion as well as Mid Mo Trends. Of course, I did a little shopping at each of these stores as well.
Anyway, after visiting all the shops in Cole Camp and Lincoln, I headed back to Warsaw to visit Statuary Gardens, Country Charm, Creative Palette and The Landing.
I bought a dress for my little granddaughter at Statuary Gardens, a t-shirt at Country Charm and some other things around town. I met up with Daughter #1 and Granddaughter #1 for lunch at The Landing then I went home with all my treasures. I was pleased with all my purchases and realized that Jimmy was not going to pay me enough to cover my shopping story but it was fun and educated me about all the great little stores we have right here in Benton County.
