Brosnahan Tabbed As Next Ladycats Volleyball Coach

Kelsi Brosnahan was recently named the next volleyball coach for the Warsaw Ladycats.  She takes over a program that won only 1 game last season,  when she was just an assistant, but has hope with some returners and a promising group of incoming freshmen who hope to contribute immediately.  We sat down with Coach Brosnahan about her new asssignment.

Season In Review: Cole Camp

The Cole Camp Boys basketball team finished 17-11 They battled injuries but were fairly deep at every position. It was a season of high and lows. 
 
Coach Shearer had a team of pieces with the exception of a complete player in Ethan Shearer and the improving Reid Harrison. 
 
He had the power man in the middle in Michael Wissman and the finesse big man and sharpshooter in Gage Cross.

Bluebirds Fall To Athletic Duchesne In MSHSAA State Quarterfinals

The Cole Camp Bluebirds left the school on Saturday at 4:30 to make the long trip to Columbia to play 15-16 Duchense at Battle High School in the MSHSAA Quarterfinals.
 
Duchense's record is a bit deceiving as they played much bigger schools along the way. They were very athletic and played hard-nosed defense. In the end, they came out on top, 51-42 in a game much closer than the final score showed.
 

Shearer Nails "Hail Mary" For Bluebirds To Advance

It was the shot heard around the world. Well, around Benton County anyway. Cole Camp's Ethan Shearer banked in a three-pointer from the edge of the center circle over the halfcourt line to give Cole Camp a come from behind 42-41 victory over Montgomery County at Sedalia Smith-Cotton last Wednesday night.
 
The sectional victory moved Cole Camp into the quarterfinal round of state.
 
The shot was watched a zillion times on the net the following day by people who couldn't go to the game.
 

Season In Review: Lincoln

The Lincoln Cardinals boys’ basketball team lost to Sacred Heart in the finals of Class 3, District 8 play, 45-41 at Smithton last Saturday.
 
Lincoln, the top seed, led by 13 with 3:41 left in the third quarter. The fourth period saw the Cardinals score just four points, get in foul trouble and turn the ball over numerous times against the third seeded Gremlins full court press.

Cole Camps Wins District With Victory In Third Overtime

How many three overtime games have you witnessed in your lifetime? Probably not more than a handful, if even that.
 
Third seeded Stover more than gave account of themselves in the three overtime loss to top seed Cole Camp at home on Saturday afternoon. The score of 63-50 came only after Cole Camp wore down Stover and Owen Ives forced three turnovers in a row in the last overtime.
