Cardinals Come From Behind To Take Kaysinger Championship

The top seeded Lincoln Cardinals defeated eight seeded Windsor 69-50 in the first round of the Kaysinger Conference tournamen  last Saturday afternoon at Sacred Heart.
 
Windsor had beaten Lincoln 52-49 in overtime in Windsor the previous Tuesday.
 
As like the first game, these two football rivals played a physical style throughout the contest.
 
Lincoln jumped out a 13-8 lead only to have Windsor tie it at 13 all on two free throws by Dalton Witherspoon.

Lady Cardinals Lose Overtime Thriller In Tournament

The fifth seeded Lincoln Lady Cardinals let one slip away on Monday night in the Kaysinger Tournament at State Fair in Sedalia.
 
The Cardinals took on ninth seeded Smithton, a team they had beaten earlier in the year and fell short in overtime 52-51.
 
Gracyn Eifert came out early and hit two threes in helping Lincoln to a 17-12 first quarter lead. Jenna Vandaveer picked up her second foul after just four minutes in the game and had to sit down.
 

Wildcats Best Adrian In Home Dual

Still facing short roster numbers, the Wildcats took the measure of the visiting Adrian Blackhawks last Tuesday night, 36-27 in a home dual win.  
 
Warsaw's Donovan Campbell, Drake Murrell and Kendall Bagley all won by fall while Nick Bagley, Corbin Thirstrup and Jayden Culbertson all picked up wins by forfeit.

Ladycats Fight, Can't Keep Up With Buffalo

The Ladycats continue to scratch and claw, but their fight was just not enough once again when they were dealt another loss last Tuesday night to  a fellow Ozark Highlands Conference foe, the Buffalo Lady Bison, 66-36.
 
Buffalo got things going from outside early on in the contest when five of their first eight made shots in the first quarter rained in from beyond the arc.  Warsaw managed just two field goals, period, in the opening period as the visitors jumped out to a 21-9 lead.  
 

Wildcats Doubled Up By Buffalo In Loss

Warsaw fell behind early and couldn't recover in yet another loss last Tuesday night, this time to Buffalo at home, 58-29.
 
The Wildcats trailed just 12-8 at the end of the first but just two field goals in the second quarter for Warsaw led to a 27-12 halftime deficit.
 
Buffalo erupted for 24 points in the third period to Warsaw's 12, giving them a 51-24 lead and then used a  modest 7-5 margin in the fourth to close things out with a final of 58-29.
 

Cole Camp Takes Down Lady Cardinals In Kaysinger Tournament

The fourth seeded Lady Bluebirds from Cole Camp defeated fifth seeded Lincoln 53-31 in the first round of the Kaysinger tournament on Saturday morning at State Fair in Sedalia.It was the second win for Cole Camp over Lincoln this season.
 
Lincoln started out well leading Cole Camp 15-13 after one. Grace Eifert hit a three to make it 5-2. Later Jenna Vandaveer ripped a three for a 10-6 lead.
 
From there, Lincoln scored 16 points in three quarters which pretty much tells the story.
