Lincoln Ladies Soundly Defeat Windsor

The Lincoln Lady Cardinals used a 1-2-2, full court trapping press to beat Windsor 58-32 on Monday night in Lincoln.
 
Windsor, with only one win on the season now 1-13 was missing their head coach and had trouble breaking the press after they reached past half court.
 
It was 8-3 after one.It was 30-6 after two and Coach Fairchild took off the press, " We were able to play all nine girls suited up and we had fun. It was a positive win for us. "
 

Lincoln Drops Overtime Nightmare To Windsor

The Lincoln Cardinals led  most of the way on Tuesday night in Windsor until Windsor forced an overtime in a 52-49 loss that Lincoln fans would love to forget.
 
Lincoln came out strong and led 12-0. It was 12-3 at the end of the first and things were looking good for the Lincoln faithful who made the trip on a very cold and windy night.
 
Windsor,  known recently for their football prowess were very physical throughout the contest.
 

Northwest Girls Use Big Fourth Quarter To Down Lady Bluebirds

Sophomore Karli Smith was on fire Tuesday night for Northwest in Cole Camp for a 45-38 sweet victory for the girls from Hughesville.
 
It was tied 8-8 after one and Cole Camp went ice cold from the field in the second quarter of play. Only a nice basket by defensive ace Dylana Stoppel kept the Lady Bluebirds from going scoreless in the frame. It was 17-10 at the half as Cole Camp dug theirselves a hole as Kyla Harms, their outside bomber, went scoreless. 
 

Tipton Flies By Lady Bluebirds

The number one seeded Tipton Lady Cardinals took a quarter to warm up on  their way to a 63-25 thrashing of fourth seeded Cole Camp on Monday night in the Kaysinger Tournament at State Fair College .
 
It was just 12-6 after one. In the second quarter, Tipton started rolling and ran off to a 39-16 first half lead behind two time All-Stater Myra Claas and Freshman Charlee Bailey.
 
Cole Camp was without the services of the injured Kyla Harms.

'Cats Fall To Climax Springs In Fast Paced Contest

It was fast-paced from the opening tip, but the Wildcats could not keep up as they fell on the road to Climax Springs on Monday night, 57-23.
 
The Cougars suffocating defense forced several Warsaw turnovers, leading to extra possessions and that spelled demise for the visitors.  
 
Riley Taylor led Warsaw, but with just 8 points.  Jayce Depriest added 6 for the Wildcats and Garrett Ferguson had 5.  

Ladycats Lose Tough One To Climax Springs On The Road

It was a gritty performance, perhaps one of the best of their season, but the Ladycats still came up short on Monday night, falling to Climax Springs by a final score of 58-42.
 
Warsaw led 15-7 at the end of the first, but a 23-7 advantage for the Lady Cougars led to a Warsaw deficit of 30-25 at halftime.  
 
A 28-17 margin for the home team in the second half led to the 58-42 final.  
 
Taylor Howe led Warsaw with 15 points but was followed closely behind by Karlie Jones with 13.  

Shot Clock In High School Basketball . . . Yay Or Nay?

High school basketball across the country is strongly considering establishing a shot clock in both girls and boys basketball. The consensus is that it is coming in sooner or later. However, those oppose to the idea can breath a sigh of relief at least for next season.
 
Each state must vote to accept the change and last Tuesday, MSHSAA, the governing body of Missouri high school sports, met in an open meeting and decided not to place the proposal on the ballot this time around.

Warsaw's Campbell, Bagley Take Firsts At OHC

The Wildcats used first place finishes from Donovan Campbell (113) and Nick Bagley (132) to take third place as a team at the Ozark Highlands Conference Tournament held in Eldorado Springs last weekend. 
 
Campbell pinned his way to first with neither match even reaching the one minute mark.
