They are ranked number one is the state and last Friday night at home, the Lincoln Cardinals gained a few more believers as they defeated No. 7 Adrian 36-0.
While the rave is about their offense, their defense stopped Adrian three times in the red zone.
With 10:40 left in the first frame, Hayden Beaman recovered a fumble on the third play of the game. His cousin, QB Jackson Beaman, read the defense and scrambled 30 yards on second down for the TD.
Mr. “ I rarely miss” Devon Parrott, kicked the PAT and it was quickly 7-0. Nate Hesse would intercept a pass and run out at the 40 and Beaman would run the ball in again from the six yard line.
Adrian would drive the ball down to the two yard line, but Lincoln’s defense held up and it was 14-0 at the half.
Lincoln would put it on the Blackhawks in the second half. Beaman ended with 7-16 passing with one TD, but killed them with his running attack. He was 20-179 with four TD’s. Parker Ingles had a fine game going 13-104 and a receiving TD and led the team with 18 tackles. Levi Betts and Tanner Bays each had 13 tackles for a balanced attack. Bo Kroenke had 12. Joe Bittner had an interception.
Lincoln 3-0 will travel to Windsor this Friday.
