Clyde H. and Virginia (Ferguson) Helphrey were married August 9, 1958, at the First Baptist Church in Warsaw, Mo.
Clyde passed away Sunday evening, January 26, 2020, at their home in Centralia, Missouri, at the age of 84. Virginia passed away Wednesday evening, February 5, 2020, at the age of 85, also at their home.
They were the parents of 2 sons, John E. Helphrey (Linda), Yukon, Oklahoma; and Lynn H. Helphrey (Ruby), Suffolk, Virginia; 2 daughters, Melodie A. Benton (Randy), Spring Hill, Florida; and Carman J. Rowan, Centralia, Mo. They are also survived by 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; Clyde’s sister, Marjorie Hunton, Green Ridge, Mo.; and Clyde’s half-brother, Clyde Leslie Helphrey, Shawnee, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to their parents, they were preceded in death by Virginia’s brothers, Harold Ferguson and his wife Shirley, and Gene Ferguson and his wife Janet; and 2 great-grandsons.
A joint graveside memorial service for Clyde and Virginia, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2020, at the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor, with Pastor Pete Hill officiating.
