It was wild and wooly and a lot of fun on Saturday at WHS in their first home meet of the season. Sixteen schools filled the parking lot and the gym with four matches going on at the same time in the high school and middle school gyms.
Warsaw’s Kolby Estes took first place in his 145 pound weight class. Folks will remember that Estes lost in the finals of state last season. The junior is having an outstanding season and wants to win the state championship this time around.
Senior Dallas Larsen took second after outpointing Blair Oak’s Dalton Bridges. Larsen commented going into the match, “He is pretty salty and it will be a tough match.”
Senior Nate Fauquier at 220 won his 100 match of his career by pinning Sam Lynn of Centralia.
As a team, Warsaw came in seventh out of sixteen teams that included Blair Oaks, Diamond, Centralia, Bolivar and Lone Jack among others.
