Ethel Davis

Ethel Marie Langston Davis passed away January 25, 2022.  She was born November 14, 1918 in Benton County, Missouri.  She was the daughter of Fenna Selma Sophia Eken and William Monroe Langston.
 
She attended Feaster School, a one room schoolhouse, completing the 8th grade.  She worked for Atwood and Henry General Store for many years and finished her working career at Estes Drive Inn in Lincoln, Missouri.
 
On November 24, 1936 she was married to Irvin W. Davis and they made their home in and around Lincoln, Missouri.  To this marriage two daughters were born, Joyce and Janice.  Ethel accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and joined the Baptist Church.  She later attended the Church of Christ in Lincoln, Missouri.
 
Ethel loved working with her hands.  Give her a saw, hammer, screw driver or any other tool and she was happy.  This included making many quilts for her family.  She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sewing for her daughters and grandkids.
 
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Davis of Wheatland, Missouri, Janice Swearngin (Ron) of Lincoln, Missouri, 5 grandsons, Barry Davis of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Bart Davis of Wheatland, Missouri, Brion Davis of Springfield, Missouri, Brad Swearngin of Overland Park, Kansas, Brian Swearngin of Blue Springs, Missouri, 3 granddaughters, Dana Lynde of Lincoln, Missouri, Denise Stoll of Overland Park, Kansas, Morgan Davis of Wheatland, Missouri, 17 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.  She is also survived by one sister, Anna-Mae Brown of Lincoln, Missouri.
 
She is preceded in death by her husband Irvin Wallace, her parents, 3 sisters, Margaret, Doris and Marietta, 2 brothers, Charles and Bill and one son-in-law, LeRoy Davis.
 
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 at 11:00 A.M., at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home in Lincoln.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M.  Graveside services and interment will follow at the Mt.
