James Curtis Breckon passed away in his home on Saturday, April 25, 2020.  He was born October 28, 1938, in Moline, Illinois, to James H. and Leah D. (Hornbaker) Breckon.
Jim joined the United States Army Reserves on February 2, 1956, and graduated from high school in 1957, in Roseville, Illinois.  Jim served in the Reserves until November 1962 and then served in the United States Army National Guard from 1962 to 1970.  Jim spent most of his working life in financial services.
Jim married Edie Stevens on January 1, 2000, in Nashville, Tennessee.  They made their home in Warsaw, in 2006.  Jim was active in American Legion Post 217, serving as the Finance Officer for several years, and getting the Shooting Sports for the Legion and local 4-H program started.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his favorite dog, Opie.
Jim leaves behind his wife Edie, of the home, two sons; Curtis (Dixie) of Skiatook, Oklahoma and Brent (Kristy) of Terrell, Texas, a step-daughter Becky (Galen) of Salina, Kansas, twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.  Survivors also include two brothers; Steve (Jan) of LaHarpe, Illinois, and Bruce (Catherine) of Macomb, Illinois, and a myriad of nieces and nephews. 
A memorial service is pending due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Cremation arrangements under the direction of Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO.
