So far the Lincoln Cardinals have been the Cardinal Nation of Domination and even the cold windy weather couldn’t slow down their hot bats in their 13-0 win over Macks Creek on Saturday in Lincoln.
However, Macks Creek actually held them in check for two innings before they exploded for five runs in the third, two in the fourth and six in the fifth to end the five inning affair. Jackson Beaman went 3-4 with two RBI’s He was also dominating on the mound allowing only a first inning single and just two walks.
Earlier in the day, the Cardinals defeated Adrian 22-0. They scored eight in the first, nine in the second and five in the fourth. The mercy rule stopped the slaughter after five. Hayden Beaman went 3-3 with three RBI’s. He will need to keep his numbers up batting behind Stephens. Jackson Beaman bombed one out for his second of the year. He could have a pretty good contest going with Stephens for the most home runs on the club.
Some of the players batted left handed  in order to speed up the contest.
Corbin Reese went four innings giving up no runs on two hits and struck out four. Dominic Simmons came in and got the side out in the fifth giving up no runs and one hit.
So the Cardinals have yet to be tested but their day will come when they face teams like Northwest, who usually have a pretty good club.
Lincoln will host Cole Camp on Thursday and that could also be a good challenge for both teams.
