When the defending state champions, the Skyline Lady Tigers  come to town then you know you have your work cut out for you. It was all Skyline as they jumped out to an early lead and won 65-31 last Friday night in the Warsaw high school gymnasium.
The Lady Tigers came out with a full court press and ran up an early 17-4 lead before taking off the press and playing a man to man half court defense. It was 26-9 after one quarter of play.
Their star player, Kaylee Damitz, three time all-state was ill and played sparingly, scoring just four points. However, the Lady Tigers didn’t need her as their first three baskets were three pointers by three different players in Autumn Garrett, Kristen Miller and Chloe Cole. It was 4:42 before the Lady Cats were able to get the ball pass midcourt and have a shot actually hit the rim.
The score was 41-12 at half and 56-22 after three.
As tough as the defense was, Aubrie McRoberts had 17 to lead the Lady Cats. Hannah Chapman had four in a rough shooting night for the improved Warsaw squad  Cole and Garrett had 18 and 17 respectfully to lead the Lady Tigers.
It really was a game that told the Lady Cats what they need to work on. So Head Coach Cody Morgan can assess where they are and prepare his team for conference play and the district playoffs. Coach Morgan was sick and missed the game.
