Strafford Continues Dominance

Where do you start? The Stafford Lady Indians defeated the only team that played within ten points of them this season in Lutheran North 61-53 for the Class Three girls championship on Saturday at JQ in Springfield MO.
They had beaten Lutheran North in St. Louis on 12-21-18 by the score of 64-55. No other school was closer than 15 and most were simply blown out.
However, on Saturday, they battled and were behind 34-33 in the third but only for 27 seconds as Frank responded with a quick bucket. Lutheran North got close at 43-42 with 5:10 to play but Frank who scored 37 points, would go to work and led her team to victory,
Her twin sister, Kayley Frank, 5’8, put her team ahead with a couple of free throws and they never looked back.
Their last defeat were as freshmen to Marshfield 55-53. Marshfield also had a four year run years ago behind Melody Howard.
Frank finished her career with 3,004 points, 1,629 rebounds, 824 assists, 310 blocks and 296 steals she also shot 54.52 from three point range, which is a state record.
They are coached by their father Steve Frank, whose record at Stafford  is 168-16.
They defeated previously undefeated Trenton 26-0 in the semi-final in a game that was never close as Stafford jumped out to a 11-0 lead.
Strafford’s first state title was 50-46 over Saxony Lutheran, their second was over Whitfield 83-37 and their third was 77-36 over California. Their fourth came over Lutheran North 61-53.
