An enthusiastic group of bikers, runners and walkers gathered at Drake Harbor on Saturday morning to participate in the First Annual Tour Of Trails Poker Run sponsored by the Benton County Tourism and Recreation and the City of Warsaw
Those riding bikes had five stops where they picked up Poker Cards. Stop 1 was Beth’s Mini Mart, stop 2 was Northtown Restaurant, stop 3 was the Visitor’s Center, stop 4 was the Joe Dice swinging bridge, and stop 5 was Drake Harbor.  Shelly Hewitt of Lawrence, Kansas, was the lucky winner of the 7.6 mile bike race.
Those who were running had five designated stops along the Kickapoo Trail where they each picked up their poker cards.  The winner of the run was Jim Smith from Arizona who was in the area visiting his parents.
The walkers took in the beauty of the Bledsoe Ferry trail where they were greeted by volunteers who handed out cards to complete the walkers’ poker hands.  The winner of the walking tour was Sherri Meyer of Cole Camp.
Kids under 17 were awarded medals.
In addition to biking, walking and running the poker trail, the volunteers also picked up seven sacks of trash along Drake Harbor and the trails for the shoreline clean-up project.
The best poker hand at the end won 10% payback for each division. Lunch was included by Truman Grill after everyone arrived back at Drake Harbor. Hosts of the Tour of Trails included:  Osage Lakes Greenway Corp., City of Warsaw, and Warsaw Chamber.
The Benton County Tourism And Recreation will host the Ozark Cigar Box guitar music festival on August 4 and 5 on Drake Harbor.  There will be plenty of good music along with a beer garden, food and retail vendors.
There are also plans for Taste Of The Ozarks Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned Barbeque competition on August 4 also on Drake Harbor.
