The Warsaw High School Music department will present “Seussical The Musical” on the WHS stage on November 2, 3, and 4.
Seussical is a fantastical musical extravaganza based on the children’s stories of Dr. Seuss. The writers of Seussical have brought to life all of their readers’ favorite Dr. Seuss characters such as Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Mayzie LaBird, and Jojo, the little boy with a big imagination.
The audience will be transported from the Jungle of Nool to the Who's living on a speck of dust. Seussical is fun for the whole family!
Vocal director Deanna Schockmann said this musical was selected because it not like anything they had ever done before.  “I could be flexible as far as casting went since the characters could be either male or female and the costuming was easy.  The students are dressed mainly in black pants and a colorful t-shirt,” Schockmann said.  “We also wanted to do a show which would appeal to young children.  This is truly a family show.”
Drama coach Jetti Bristow has helped Schockmann with staging and lines. “I am really proud of the students,” said Bristow.  “They have worked hard and this will be a fun show for everyone.”
The cast includes:  The Cat in the Hat, Madeline Schockmann; Horton the Elephant, Grady Miller; Jojo, Ariel Givens; Gertrude, Allison Thomas; Mayzie, Alexa Scrivener; Sour Kangaroo, Kathryn Ricke; Mr. Mayor, Lerran Yoder; Mrs. Mayor, Lauren Kreisel; The Grinch, Dakota Steinhoff; Yertle, Schmitz, Kieon Davis; Vlad Vladikoff, Jared Thomas; Sign Who, Benjamin Kawal; Bird Girls, Samantha Blake, Jamie Jorgensen, Aubrie McRoberts, Becky Petesch; the Wickershams, Dakota Steinhoff, Haley Dwyer, Gabrielle Porter, Kylie Clevenger.
