Many things in the news are worrisome these days, but around here a lot of nice things are happening. Jubilee Days in Warsaw gets underway this week, Flag Day is June 18, the first day of summer is June 21 and Olde Glory Days in Clinton begins on June 29. The Strawberry Moon flew on the 4th and is still visible in the sky. Absolutely brilliant! It’s named for the Algonquin Tribes who used it as a signal to gather ripening fruit. That same moon makes the Osage River fordable at night, once for steamboats and now for evening fisherman and pontoon parties.

Another school year has come to a close. And if you have young children, they’re now a year closer to heading off to college or some other type of post-secondary education or training. So, if you haven’t already done so, you may want to start preparing for these costs.

Memorial Day weekend was good for many of us and we were blessed with beautiful weather. Just about everybody you talked to brought it up.  Sure is nice to have that one extra day. Just right!

Many of us are already tired of the 2024 Presidential Campaign and we have 533 days until the election. The debates begin in August and the primaries in February.  Wish we could move them to next June or July and live in ignorance until then, especially when the choice on both sides will be more of the same.
