Wildcats Survive First Round Of Districts With Win Over Eldorado

It may not have been the fireworks that fans expected after their performance against Buffalo in week 9, but nevertheless, a playoff win is a playoff win and the Wildcats did just that, 21-0 at home last Friday night over Eldorado Springs.
 
"It was definitely a tough game," Warsaw head coach Ryan Boyer said.  "Anytime you have to play the same opponent twice in a season, yet alone a month, it can turn into kind of a 'trap' game. Our guys did what they had to do, and that's find a way to win."

Wildcats Take Share Of Conference Crown With Big Win Over Buffalo

It was a big game with big conference and district implications; the Wildcats knew that and took care of business on the road last Friday night, demoralizing the Buffalo Bison with a 61-24 win.
 
The victory secured a 7-2 finish in the regular season, a share of the Ozark Highlands Conference title with Butler and the #2 seed in the Class 2 District 5 bracket.

The Lincoln Cardinals came out ready to play, executing as some are saying their best first quarter of the season in a 54-14 romp of Wellington-Napoleon on the road in their final regular season game on the schedule.
 
A somewhat surprising loss by Adrian to upstart Tipton, 19-16, gave Lincoln the outright conference championship on a beautiful night to play football. Adrian was missing three key players in the upset. Tipton, a hard team to figure, and an enigma of sorts, has now beaten both Lincoln and Adrian.
 

Cole Camp Crushes Midway, Ends Two Game Losing Streak

The Cole Camp Bluebirds desperately needed a win after two straight losses. After the heartbreaking 38-34 loss to Lincoln and the devastating 36-0 pounding by Adrian, the Bluebirds were looking to regain their identity. Friday night was redemption time as Cole Camp demolished Midway 50-6 as they eye a date with destiny and a very possible district title.
 
Junior Grady Strathman had a huge game with 120 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just 12 carries in helping leading the Bluebirds to a sweet victory on the road.
 

Lincoln Takes Blackout Night To A New Level, Beats Midway In Saturday Evening Game

It was Senior Night at Lincoln last Friday. The theme was "Blackout" and all of the fans were encouraged to wear black. The players received new black jerseys for the special occasion and with the added excitement, their spirits were naturally high.
 
The lights didn't go out in Georgia, but at a little after 5:00pm, the lights went out on the west side of Lincoln and they stayed off till approximately 8:45pm that night.
 

'Cats Handle Skyline, 27-6 In Return To Win Column

Warsaw got back to their winning ways last Friday night when they rolled over the Skyline Tigers, 27-6 in their regular season home finale, and in front of a large crowd packed into Randy Morrow Field for Senior Night.
 
After winning the coin toss and deferring to the second half, Warsaw kicked away to the visiting Tigers.  
 
Skyline held the ball and managed to milk the clock for more than half of the first quarter, but came up empty-handed in their initial possession of the game.  
 

Adrian Shuts Out Cole Camp, Handing Bluebirds Just Second Loss Of Season

Cole Camp traveled to Adrian on Friday night and suffered a 36-0 defeat for their second straight loss of the season to fall to 6-2. It was 20-0 at halftime.
 
Coming off of an emotional 38-34 set back to longtime rival Lincoln in week 7, Cole Camp couldn't get anything going with only 61 yards of offense in the first half of play.
 
The Blackhawks were led by junior running back Hunter Bailey, who had three touchdowns on the night and Logan Kisner added two TD's.
 

Lady Cards Fall To Lakeland At Home

Lincoln wanted badly to win on "Whiteout Night" and their last home game of the regular season against Lakeland on Monday. Senior  Gracyn Eifert played her heart out but couldn't overcome a victory minded Lakeland team in five competitive sets.
 
The fifth set is played to 15 and the Lady Cardinals jumped out to a 4-0 lead but allowed a fiery Lakeland club to climb back and then pull away to a sweet 15-9 victory.
 
Lincoln was seeking their fifth win of the season while Lakeland moved to 8-14-1.
 

Warsaw JV Finishes Season With Win

LADYCATS JV volleyball finished their season with a 25-19, 22-25, 15-11 victory over Cole Camp on Monday night. They completed their season with a record of 17-4-1. Varsity fell to the Lady Bluebirds; 12-25, 18-25, 15-25. They now stand at 2-19-2 as they prepare for districts. The Warsaw "C" team also lost; 21-25, 23-25.
