Freshman Class Could Play Big Part In Success For Lincoln Football Season

Every four years it would seem that Lincoln High School has an exceptional class of athletic freshmen. There are exceptions but 14-year old kids normally cannot compete on the same level as 17-18-year old young men. However, Class 1 schools, more or less, have to play their freshmen in order to put their best teams on the field.
 
Lincoln has an odd case this season as they only have one junior for varsity football and basketball in Xavier Smith. 
 

Cardinals Football Grows Program From Ground Up

The brand new football field at Lincoln received a workout last  week. Some 50 kids showed up at Lincoln's youth football camp last Monday thru Wednesday. Also, several coaches, parents and high school players took part at the annual event. 
 
The weather toyed with the program with brief showers and threats of rain all week. However, it didn't slow things down for long.
 
Coach Drehle said, "We were happy with the turnout and the kids had a great time."
 

SFCC Softball Head Coach Talbot Takes NFCA Position

State Fair Community College Softball Head Coach Lyndsey Talbot has accepted a position as the Director of Innovation at the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) in Louisville, Kentucky.  
 
“I will be responsible for various NFCA educational events, sponsorships, membership initiatives, and programming,” said Talbot. “I will also serve as the liaison for the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) coaches.”

Cole Camp Bluebirds Prepare For Season To Be Remembered

The Cole Camp Bluebirds football team have been preparing for the upcoming season for several years.The Kaysinger Conference expanded to ten teams so all of the games will be conference games.  
 
Quarterback Ethan Shearer will lead his senior class for their final time. It seems like yesterday that Shearer and the other seniors were just freshmen.
 

Lincoln Football Travels To Branson For Camp

For the second year in a row, the Lincoln football team traveled to Branson for a day of fun and a football jamboree like no other.Schools from all over Missouri gathered for the event. 
 

Busy Summers Keep Bluebirds On Track For Successful Upcoming Seasons

Cole Camp volleball head coach Abby Massingill is excited about the upcoming volleyball season. They have 31 girls, 18 freshmen and seven seniors are among her squad that will have a varsity, junior varsity and a C team this year.
 
The Lady Bluebirds graduated their two best players of a year ago that are playing college ball this fall in Paityn Massingill, who is going to Southwestern in Iowa and Desiree Heimsoth, who will be playing at Central Methodist.
 

Borman Introduced As New Lady Cards Basketball Coach

New Lincoln girls basketball coach Brendan Borman has wasted no time getting to know his team and planning shoot outs and open gyms. He hopes to have around 15 girls when the season starts which would be an upgrade on previous seasons. Borman is a very approachable young man and should be a good fit for Lincoln.
 
He played college ball in St. Louis and transferred to Missouri where he was the team manager.
 

Midweek Madness Coming To Lucas Oil Speedway On Wednesday

Some different types of cars than normal will be in action at Lucas Oil Speedway in a special Wednesday Night Midweek Madness program next week.
 
Legend cars, Pure Stocks, Midwest Mods and USRA Tuners are scheduled for the week-night show. All four classes will run $300-to-win main events.
 
"We're looking forward to seeing how this goes as we wanted to give some drivers and classes who don't normally get a chance to race here an opportunity," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said.
