Now that the dust has settled on the high school softball season, there was just one honor that players coveted and those names were released late last week as All-State lists were announced by MSHSAA after votes were compiled by regional representatives.
 
Warsaw's Taylor Howe was named to the Class 2 1st Team for the second consecutive season and Brylee Brewster was a 2nd Team selection in her inaugural high school campaign.
 

Cole Camp Football Off And Running With Camp

On a beautiful June evening, high school football was in the air at Cole Camp. Thirty-something boys attended the football camp every evening throughout the week.
 
Junior speed merchant Reid Harrison, senior terrorizing lineman Michael Wissman and senior signal caller Ethan Shearer headed up the formidable squad.
 
The line of the week came from Bluebirds Assistant Coach Nathan Steenburgen, who told his would-be tacklers, "Dont hug this like you would your grandmother, but hit it hard and hang on."
 

Cardinals Football Will Start 2022 Season On New Turf

In record time, Lincoln's football field has a brand new look. It is a thing of beauty and will be put to good  use  this coming week. 
 
The football team has been working out in the gym waiting for completion of the work being done. If you haven't seen the field, then it will be worth the effort to drive by and take a good long look. You will not be disappointed.
 
The other field was coming apart. The school was able to save up the funds to replace the field.
 

Lincoln's Eckhoff Prepares For Final High School Season

Kyle Eckhoff, given a good look, is a man among boys  He has battled injuries his entire football career.
 
With a healthy Eckhoff and a healthy Connor Lynde, Lincoln football could be one of the best in their class in the entire state.
 
Make no mistake, this is their final season and Eckhoff is preparing like never before.
 

Warsaw's Guiot Takes State In Javelin

The Wildcats took 6 athletes in 5 events to the 2022 MSHSAA State Track Championships in Jefferson City on May 27-28 to compete in their events in Class 3.
 

'Cats, Bluebirds Land Several On All-District Squad

A total of eight players from Warsaw and Cole Camp baseball rosters landed on the Class 3 District 13 All-District player list, recognizing players for performances throughout that round of the MSHSAA state playoffs.

Ladycats End Season With Awards Banquet

The Warsaw Ladycats  softball teams wrapped their season with an awards banquet last Thursday night, honoring players for both this year's junior varsity and varsity squads. 
 
Morgan Burriss was named the JV MVP.  
 
Players earning their first varsity letters were freshmen; Haylee Cobb, Carly Price and Brylee Brewster.
 
This year's Offensive Player of the Year was Taylor Howe and the Defensive Player of the Year was Karlie Jones.  This year's team MVP was awarded to Brylee Brewster.

Cole Camp Foreign Exchange Student Played Baseball, Touched Hearts

Elias Huber, the 16-year old son of Bernhard and Catherine Alberti Huber from Gauting, Germany,  traveled to America to attend Cole Camp High School this past semester. The foreign exchange student was the house guest of Jason and Melissa Stone of Cole Camp since January of this year.
 
Huber had been to America twice before and became a big fan of the San Diego Padres.
