'Cats Baseball Wins On Week

It was a winning week for the Warsaw Wildcats on the baseball diamond as they managed to notch 3 wins against 2 losses.  
 
Warsaw ran away with a lopsided 15-0 win over Eldorado Springs last Tuesday night at home. 
 
Nick Bagley led the offensive charge with 3 hits while James Kellner and Gage Whitaker both collected 2 hits apiece. 
 
Whitaker also picked up the mound win.  He went 4.0 innings, yielded 2 hits and struck out 7.

Ladycats Pick Up Three More Wins

Warsaw added three more wins but also absorbed their first loss of the season last week.  Their season record now stands at 5-1.
 
Last Tuesday night, the Ladycats squeaked out a 4-2 win at home over Eldorado Springs, 4-2.
 
Jillian Giuot paved the way for Warsaw with 2 hits. 
 
Brylee Brewster continued to impress on the mound.  She went 7.0 innings, gave up 2 runs on 8 hits and struck out 11.

Cole Camp Rolls Past Lady Cardinals In Lincoln

Winless Lincoln (0-3) struggled at home against Cole Camp in a 20-4 drubbing to their Benton County rivals.
 
Freshman Alyssa Mellen started and gave up eight runs in the first before giving way to another Lincoln freshman Sydney Spry. Lincoln walked in three runs and allowed one on an error in the first.
 
Lincoln scored three in their half and it looked to be a wild one
 

Wildcats Drop Two On Road; At Buffalo, Holden

Warsaw watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 6-3 loss at Buffalo last Tuesday.  
 
The Bison scored 2 in the first on 1 Wildcats error.  They went on to tally 3 more in the third and 1 in the sixth for their total.
 
The Wildcats didn't pick up their first run until the sixth frame and added 2 more in the seventh, but it was too little, too late in the 6-3 loss.
 

Cole Camp Loses Wild Opener At Concordia

The Cole Camp Lady Bluebirds traveled to Concordia on Monday night and lost 17-15 in a wild one to open their season.
 
Down by ten runs in the third 13-3, Cole Camp scored seven times in the fourth to cut the lead to 13-10 but Concordia scored two in their fourth to make it 15-10. 
 
The Lady Bluebirds scored three in the fifth and two in the seventh but Concordia added one in the fifth and the sixth as they held off Cole Camp's comeback.
 

Ladycats Blank Green Ridge Behind Another Brewster Gem

Warsaw freshman Brylee Brewster continues to dominate in the early season as she had all the right stuff yet again last Tuesday night, allowing 0 runs on just 2 hits in a 10-0 home win.
 
The Ladycats got things started in the first when Brewster helped her own cause and took a 2-1 pitch into left center field, scoring 1 run when Taylor Howe crossed the plate.
 
Warsaw scored 2 more in the inning for a 3-0 lead.
 

Lady Cards Lose Close One At Home To Crest Ridge

The Lincoln Lady Cardinals came close to victory in their second outing of the season in the 9-7 loss to Crest Ridge at home.
 
Lincoln's inexperienced pitching staff with three freshmen led by Braylin Paxton, who pitched the seven innings giving up nine runs and ten walks, will improve as the season progresses. Paxton hit four and threw nine wild pitches.
 
Crest Ridge scored two in each of the first three innings while Lincoln had two in the first and three in the third.
