Bill Salley

Billie K. Salley, Jr, age 70, of Warsaw, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri surrounded by his loved ones.  He was born on March 6, 1947 in Kansas City, the son of Billie K. Salley, Sr. and Bonita Jean Horner.
He attended East High School in Kansas City, Missouri, and spent many of his formative years in Benton County in the Fairfield area.  He enlisted in the United States Navy and served from August 17, 1964 until his honorable discharge on January 5, 1968.  He served his country in the 7th Fleet in the Pacific during the Vietnam War on the Aircraft Carrier USS Constellation CV-64 in Yokosuka, Japan.  He was employed as a maintenance worker for the US Army Corps of Engineers from 1980 until his retirement in 2006.
Bill was an avid sports fan.  He enjoyed traveling, following Nascar, float trips on the rivers of Missouri, running trot lines, spending time with his family, bargain hunting and enjoying life to its fullest.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George Scott Salley.
He is survived by seven children; Luke Salley, of Denver, Colorado, Wesley Salley (Suzanne Gray), of Lakewood, Colorado, Willie Salley (Bobbi) of Warsaw, Michelle Murphy (Justin) of Independence, Missouri; Wade Murphy (Amanda), of Oak Grove, Missouri; Dane Salley (Jolene), of Clinton, Missouri and Dylan Salley (Sarah Deans), of Clinton, Missouri and fifteen grandchildren.  He is also survived by his brother Mark Salley, of Rogersville, Missouri.
Memorial Services & Military Rites for Bill Salley will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M.  A Celebration of Life will follow the funeral service at the Warsaw Elks Lodge.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Benton County Historical Society c/o the Reser Funeral Home 101 W. Main Street, Warsaw, Missouri.
