Cole Camp Police Report

Cole Camp Police Chief
From February 12, 2018 to March 4, 2018 Cole Camp Police Officers have done the following activities:
-Responded mutual aid to Benton County Sheriff’s Office to a motor vehicle crash on Highway 52 east of Brockman Road.
-Issued citations for exceeding the posted speed limit, trespassing, operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
-Mailed letters to property owners giving notice of violation of property related nuisances.
-Responded to a disturbance in the 600 block of West Main Street.
-Responded to a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of South Elm Street.
-Responded to a report of a theft in the 400 block of West Main Street.
-Responded to a trespass complaint in the 100 block of S. Maple Street.
-Assisted Cole Camp Ambulance with medical calls in the 500 block of North Oak Street.
-Officers with the Cole Camp Police Department assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office and the Mid-Missouri Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force with a report of drug activity.  Officers were able to make contact with the occupants in the residence and obtained consent to search the residence.  During a search of the residence, a large amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and illegal firearms, and U.S. Currency.  Two people inside the residence were arrested and transported to the Benton County Jail.  Formal charges are pending. 
-Responded to an alarm call in the 300 block of East Main Street.
-Responded to a non-injury motor vehicle crash on Highway 52 at Highway B.
-Responded to a possible theft in the 300 block of East Jefferson.  Upon further investigation, it was determined no theft had occurred at the location, however a possible crime had taken place in Arkansas involving the same victim. 
-Officers conducted a traffic stop on Walnut Street and Highway 52 for failure to display front license plate and an equipment violation.  Upon further investigation, it was determined the driver of the vehicle had multiple active warrants for their arrest out Cole Camp and Pettis County.  The subject was arrested for the warrants and transported to the Benton County Jail.  The subject was also cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
-Responded to a animal at large complaint in the 600 block of West Grother.  The owner of the dogs were located and issued a citation for allowing the animals to run at large.  
-Assisted Division of Family Services with a hotline call in the 500 block of South Elm Street.  No contact was made.
-Received a complaint of a parked vehicle on South Hickory in a dangerous spot.  A notice of violation will be sent to the vehicle owner.
Officers with the Cole Camp Police Department will be participating in the statewide Youth Seat Belt Enforcement Campaign, March 15-31, 2018.  The safety belt usage rate among Missouri’s teen motorists for 2016 was only 70%.  In known cases where fatally injured teen occupants were ejected, 97% were unbuckled.  In 2016, male teen drivers’ safety belt use was 10% lower than female teenage drivers as 66% and 76% respectfully
