Daniel Eugene “Danny” Carpenter

Daniel Eugene “Danny” Carpenter, 60, of Sedalia passed away Monday, January 4, 2021, at his home with his loving companion, Heidi Kalthoff, by his side.
Daniel was born July 3, 1960, in Chula Vista, California, and was the youngest child of Dr. Arden Ray and Hazel Louise (Parker) Carpenter. He grew up in Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii, and Memphis, Tennessee, before moving to Warsaw, Missouri, when his father retired from the U.S. Navy in 1972. 
Daniel graduated from Warsaw High School in 1980, and attended State Fair Community College in Sedalia, where he trained as a welder. He worked as a welder for Duke Manufacturing and Kelsey Hayes Manufacturing. He was also a former sexton for Calvary Episcopal Church, Sedalia, where he was a member. 
In 1981, Daniel married Kelley L. Hauser and together they had one son, Matthew. On November 24, 1991, in Warsaw, Daniel married Tommie Jean (Witt) Hoy. Together they had three sons, Thomas, Michael, and Derek. 
Surviving are his four sons, Matthew Carpenter (Missy) of Denver, Colorado, Thomas Carpenter of Kansas City, Michael Carpenter of Warsaw, and Derek (KeLyn Dines) of Warsaw; two grandchildren, Alexander Carpenter and Stormy Powell of Warsaw; companion, Heidi Kalthoff of Sedalia; two sisters, Sherry (Jim) Allain of Florence, and Trudy Phillips of Kansas City; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Arden and Hazel Carpenter; his brother, David Ray Carpenter; a brother-in-law, Scott Phillips; and his grandparents, Gabriel and Edna (Martensen) Carpenter.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Daniel’s birthday, Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the Carpenter-Allain Family Cemetery on the family farm near Florence, Missouri. 
Memorial contributions can be made to Calvary Episcopal Church or the American Diabetes Association. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
