Ethel Cox

Ethel Pauline Cox (Bond) born August 2, 1926 passed away Friday, February 9, 2018  She was the daughter of Charles & Cyble (Breshears) Stull.  She went for 8 years of school at Quincy and 3 years at Weaubleau and graduated from Warsaw High School in 1943.  She went to Southwest Baptist College in Bollivar.  In the Fall of 1943, Ethel taught school at Harper, Mo. and then in 1944 she taught 2 years at LP Union (Weaver, in a one room school house).  In 1946, Ethel was married to Eugene (Gene) Cox in Kansas City where they made their home afterwards.  Unto this union, 2 children were born, JoAnne Warner and Michael E. Cox.  Ethel worked at Montgomery Ward, American Can Company, Injection Molding Plastics and 13 years for Armour & Co.  Both Gene and Ethel belonged to the Thomas Motorcycle Club.  They owned and raced cars, with Ethel driving in the Powder Puff races.
In 1964, Ethel, Gene and children moved to Colorado where they owned and operated Riverbend Motel and later Big Bend Motel in Big Thompson Canyon at the edge of Estes Park.  After the death of Gene in 1971, she left the motel.  In 1973, she and John Bond returned to Colorado to operate Big Bend Motel.  They later returned to Missouri in 1979.  Ethel loved flea markets and meeting new people.  She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husbands Eugene Cox and John Bond, a son Michael Cox, only Grandson Brian Cox who died while serving in the U.S. Navy, Granddaughter Andrea Chillcott, parents Charles and Cyble (Breshears) Stull, and a sister Charlene.  
She leaves to mourn a daughter JoAnne Warner and Step Daughter Darlene Lawson, Grandchildren Michelle McNab, Tiffiny Bardonner, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.  
Funeral services will be held at Reser Funeral Home, 101 Main Street, Warsaw on Thursday, February 15, 2018.  Viewing will be at 1:00 p.m. and services will follow at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will be at Shiloh Cemetery.  Following graveside services, there will be a luncheon for family and friends at Shiloh Community church..
