Ruth L. Davis, age 97, of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at the Lincoln Community Care Center.  She was born at home on November 13, 1922, , the daughter of Earl and Ella Higgins Chaney of Warsaw, MO.
Ruth grew up on a farm north of Warsaw and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1941. 
On February 19, 1942, she was united in marriage to Raymond Charles Davis at Clever, MO.  While her husband was in the service, Ruth lived with his parents.  Upon his return they made their home on a farm on highway T near Lincoln moving to town in August of 1990.
Ruth was a member of the Lincoln United Methodist Church and had previously been a member of the Sunnyside Methodist Church. Ruth enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing and gardening, and was very fond of her roses.  She was a wonderful baker and enjoyed cooking for her family.  Ruth and Charles spent many winters in Texas and loved to travel throughout the United States.  One of their most enjoyable trips was to Alaska in 1991.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Charles, on February 7, 2009, two granddaughters, Renee and Christina Smart and her sister, Faye Swearngin.
Ruth is survived by one daughter, Loyce Smart, and her husband, William of Ionia, and one son, Galen Davis, of Warsaw, MO, 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, other relatives and many friends,
Graveside Services and Interment were Saturday, August 15, 2020, at 10:30 A.M., at Lincoln Cemetery with Rev. Harvey Beach and Rev. Renae Watt, officiating. Memorials may be made to the Lincoln Community Nursing Home or Lincoln United Methodist Church in care of the Davis-Miller Funeral Home, Lincoln.
