A Splish Splash Pool Party Blast

A live mermaid and pirate were on hand Saturday, July 13, at the Warsaw Municipal Pool, and available for pictures with children attending the 5th Annual Mermaid and Pirate Pool Party. There were at least 100 participants at the event that is one of the summer favorites of pool visitors.
The party took place from 5 to 6:45 PM, and cost $5 per child for fun plus hot dogs, chips and drinks. Parents were admitted free with a paying child.
“The kids had a great time,” said pool manager Kylie McRoberts. “And, there were even some little girls wearing mermaid tales while they swam.
Another special pool experience is coming up on Saturday, July 20. Water Safety Splash will take place from 12 to 3 PM, and is partnered with the Corps of Engineers. Swimmers who show up for a daily swim, and pay the usual $4, will be entered in raffles for prizes, such as life jackets. COE personnel will be stationed at a table, and available to talk to kids and parents about water safety. They will also give out questionnaires that ask children what they wear when they are around water.
McRoberts said that in addition to these public events, there are also a lot of private pool parties. There is one time slot on Friday, one time slot on Saturday, and two time slots on Sundays for parties. The public can reserve one-and-a-half hour time slots for up to 49 people at $100; 50 to 74 guests at $150; and for 75 plus guests at a price based on a case-by-case basis.
Daily swims, water aerobics, lap swimming, private and group swim lessons are also available at the pool. The pool will be open seven days a week until Warsaw schools begin their first day for students, August 15. Then, it will be open on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays until Labor Day weekend. Daily swim is scheduled Monday through Saturday from 12 to 7 PM.
