Jackie was born on March 18, 1931, in Henry County, Missouri, to her parents, Raymond and Lena Tribble (Batchlette). Henry County was not only where her story began, but also the place she called home throughout her life. Jackie shared her life with her beloved husband, Lester Briggs, and together they built a life filled with family, memories, and many years of love.

Jackie was a loving mother to her son, Kevin E. Briggs and his longtime partner, Cindy. She was a proud grandmother to her granddaughter, Michelle L. Barton, and a very special great-grandmother to Makennah J. Green, Weston S. Green, and Jaxin C. Barton.

Jackie grew up as part of a large family. Her sisters were Wilma Merriman (Kenneth); Dixie Woirhaye (Paul); Grace Higgins (James); and Mary “Mae” Tribble. Her brothers were Pete Tribble (Beverly); Roy Tribble (Ritta); and Carl Tribble. The bonds and memories Jackie shared with her brothers and sisters remained an important part of her life.

She leaves behind her son, granddaughter, great-grandchildren, surviving siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and many dear friends who were an important part of her life and who will continue to carry her memory with them.

Jackie also leaves behind her beloved cat who was a special companion and brought her comfort, companionship, and love.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lena; her beloved husband, Lester; her sisters, Grace and Mary; and her brothers, Roy and Carl.

Jackie was a hardworking woman who spent many years working as a seamstress at Unitog. She dedicated many years to her work there before retiring in 1996.

Jackie enjoyed the simple things in life that brought her happiness. She loved gardening and berry picking, spending time outdoors and enjoying what each season had to offer. She also loved baking, and many special memories were made through the things she prepared and shared with the people she loved.

Family and friends were an important part of Jackie’s life. She enjoyed visiting family and friends, sitting around together, and playing cards. Those visits brought plenty of conversation, laughter, and memories that will now be treasured even more.

Jackie also enjoyed quilting, creating beautiful pieces with her own hands. Like so many of the things she enjoyed doing, her quilts were a reflection of the time, care, and love she put into the things that mattered to her.

Jackie lived a long life filled with experiences, changes, challenges, laughter, family, and love. Over 95 years, she watched generations of her family grow and had the opportunity to be part of so many lives.

Those who knew Jackie will remember her in their own special ways — perhaps while picking berries, working in a garden, baking something in the kitchen, playing a hand of cards, seeing one of her quilts, or simply sitting together with family. It is often these ordinary moments that become some of our most precious memories.

Although saying goodbye is never easy, today is also a time to be thankful — thankful for 95 years of Jackie, for the memories made with her, and for the generations of family who are part of her story.

Her time with us may have come to an end, but the love she gave, the memories she created, and the pieces of her that live on through her family will remain.

Today, we remember Jackie not only for the day we lost her, but for all the days we were blessed to have her.

Rest peacefully, Jackie. You are loved, you are remembered, and you will forever be a part of our family’s story.

Services have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, Missouri.
