Presiding Commissioner Steve Daleske call the meeting of the Benton County Commission to order at 9:00 a.m. on January 21 in the Courthouse BoardRoom. Commissioners Larry Berry and Scott Harms were present. Visitor David Malecki was also present.
District 1 Commissioner Larry Berry made the motion to approve the bid from Independent Salt Company for road salt for Road District #1 at a cost of $94.87 per ton. District 2 Commissioner Scott Harms seconded the motion. The motion passed. The other bid received was from Williams Diversified Materials at a cost of $101 per ton.
Brent Beck met with the Commissioners to discuss county roads, noting poor road conditions in his area. Commissioner Berry indicated that maintenance will proceed as weather conditions allow.
E-911 Director Jessica Mayfield met with the Commissioners to discuss the mapping system and sign placement procedures currently in place by the E-911 Center. Ron Cobb and Suzy James were also present.
The Commissioners discussed the current capital improvement sales tax. This issue will need to be placed on the ballot for renewal. Commissioner Harms made the motion to sign the order to place the renewal of the county’s capital improvement sales tax on the April 8, 2025 ballot. Commissioner Berry seconded the motion. The motion passed.
The Commissioners met with the County Recorder Carla Brown and County Assessor Jim Hansen to discuss coordination of mapping and addressing guidelines within the county.
County Treasurer Rick Renno presented his annual settlement report of 2024, noting total receipts and disbursements for each fund. He also presented his weekly financial report. County Clerk Susan Porterfield submitted bills for approval and payment.
