Normally, one would think that a Bluebird could devour a hornet. However, on Friday, the Westran Hornets soundly defeated the visiting Cole Camp Bluebirds, 50-8 in a Class 1 District 2 matchup.
The nightmare 1-10 season for Cole Camp ended on a distanct field in a far away place.
Westran led 14-0 after one, then 30-0 at the half and 44-0 after three.
Teagan Sharp, on his only carry of the night, raced 25 yards for the Bluebirds' lone touchdown and then scored the 2-point conversion in the fourth quarter to avoid the shut out.
Cole Camp signal caller Grant Rodriguez went 0 for 3 in the passing game and had 21 attempts for 77 rushing yards.
Kolton Phillips ran 4 times for 9 yards, Lucas Todd had 1 rush for 3 yards and Clayton Archambault rushed 5 times for 28 yards.
Westran moved to 8-2.
The BCE will recap Cole Camp's season next week.
