After a long Christmas break, the Clinton High School boys wrestling team traveled to the Butler Wrestling Invitational on Saturday, January 11, and came away with a 2nd place team plaque; the team's first since 2014.
Several schools had withdrawn from the event, still battling treacherous road conditions.
Nevertheless, leading the boys to their 160 team points were Lucas McMenemy (106), Payton Goth (165), Will Golder (175), all who finished in 1st place.
Evan Dubina (113), Connor Bramell (138), Brody Barnhart (157) and brought home 2nd place finishes while Cayden Mentzer (285) took 3rd place.
Jordan Oliver (150) 4th place, Mason Shumate (190) and Raphael Donnell (215) placed 5th and Maverick Stillwell (144) salvaged an 8th place finish to round out the scoring for the Cardinals,
Clinton wrestled at a home assembly dual on Tuesday and will be away at Adrian on Thursday.
