On January 29, 2025, juniors and seniors from Clinton Christian Academy (CCA) traveled to the Missouri State Capitol to participate in the “Show Me Excellent Schools” rally, a flagship event of National School Choice Week. Accompanied by Social Studies teacher Colonel Hans Morris, the students joined over 500 peers from across the state to advocate for educational options.
The rally, held from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., featured speeches from students, parents, and educators, highlighting the importance of school choice in Missouri. The event provided an opportunity for participants to meet with legislators and share personal stories about the impact of educational options on their lives. (schoolchoiceweek.com)
During their visit, CCA students met with Representative Jim Kalberloh and Senator Sandy Crawford, discussing the significance of school choice and expressing their support for policies that expand educational opportunities. Governor Mike Kehoe also attended the event, expressing his support for the expansion of charter schools in Missouri.
National School Choice Week, celebrated annually, aims to inform and empower parents about the various K-12 education options available, including traditional public, charter, magnet, private, online, and homeschooling. The “Show Me Excellent Schools” rally in Jefferson City was one of 66 flagship events held across 38 states during the week.
CCA’s participation in the rally underscores the school’s commitment to advocating for educational choices that best meet the needs of its students.
