Charles Lynn “Charlie” Saving, age 72, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 12, 2025.

Charlie was born on January 31, 1953, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Vernie and Marie (Trummel) Saving. He grew up in Lenexa, Kansas, where he graduated from high school and began building a life rooted in hard work and strong family ties.

Charlie spent most of his professional life in body shop repair, a trade he took pride in and worked at with great dedication. On September 14, 2012, he married the love of his life, Donnalynn, and together they made their home in Kansas City, MO before relocating to Warsaw in 2020 to enjoy their later years in a quieter setting.

Charlie will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a loyal friend. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother and close companion, Bill Smalley.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Donnalynn Saving of the home; four children: Jennifer Saving of Urich, Missouri; Justin Saving (Laci) of Shawnee, Kansas; Mark Beach of Kansas City, Missouri; and Heather Branson (Justin) of Kansas City, Missouri. He is also survived by three brothers: Glen Saving of Shawnee, Kansas, David Saving (Lori) of Edwards, Missouri, and Terry Clark (Lynne) of Joelton, Tennessee; as well as five cherished grandchildren: Lindsey, Avett, Atlas, Brooks, and Aria. And many friends.

Charlie’s warmth, humor, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw. Celebration of life will be at Shiela’s BB Bar & Restaurant on June 21 at 2 pm.
