Warsaw Mayor Eddie Simons called the meeting of the Warsaw City Board to order at 6:00 PM on Monday, April 7, in the council chambers of the Warsaw Community Building.
Alderpersons present included Lou Breshears, Adam Howe, Rob Coskey, Eric Flores and Jim White. City Clerk Jessica Kendall took notes of the meeting.
After the approval of a consent agenda and payment of the bills, the board unanimously passed a resolution for the City of Warsaw to apply for federal financial assistance from the United States of America for the purpose for Warsaw I & I improvements, concerning acceptance and compliance with various requirements to obtain financial assistance from the United States of America, acting through the United States department of Agriculture, rural development. The adoption of the resolution does not adhere the group to actually apply for a loan at this point, but is merely a formality in the process.
After a presentation by City of Warsaw Pool Manager Cheyenne Beard, the board also passed new admission prices for the pool for the 2025 season.
Admission to the pool was raised from $4.50 per person to $5.00 per person. A 7-punch card went from $28 to $30. A 24-punch card went from $90 to $100 and a 48-punch card increased from $168 to $190.
Other new prices include: Twilight swim, $2.50; Aerobics Pass, $85; Aerobics Lessons, $4.
Pool Party, 0-49 swimmers (no slide or diving board), $135; 50-74 swimmers, (slide or diving board), $190; 75+ swimmers (slide and diving board), $225.
Lap swim, $1; children 2 and under are free with an adult's paid admission; A 5% discount will be offered for seniors (65+) and military;; Spectators, $5; School, $2; Daycare, $2.
Beard pointed out that among the reasons for increases is that lifeguards are needed at each part of the pool and are now paid $13.75 per hour. The pool will, however, now be available 7 days per week.
The board also voted to move city office hours of operation from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM.
With no further discussions, the meeting adjourned to executive session at 6:36 PM.
The Warsaw City Council meets regularly on the first and third Monday of each month. The meetings are open and the public is always invited to attend.
