City Of Warsaw Improves Benefits For Employees

The March 17 meeting of the Warsaw City Council was called to order at 6:00 PM by Mayor Eddie Simons. City Alderpersons present included: James White, Eric Flores, Lou Breshears and Adam Howe. Alderman Rob Coskey was absent. City Clerk Jessica Kendall recorded the meeting.

Upon approval of minutes and bills presented, the council passed a resolution authorizing the mayor to execute a contract by and between the Warsaw Police Department and the Benton County Commissioners CentralSquare Technologies to benefit all law enforcement agencies in Benton County to provide enhanced hardware and software capability to replace current vehicle dispatching/tracking system in the E-911 Dispatch Center. The City of Warsaw agrees to pay the Benton County Treasurer the City of Warsaw share of software integrations, core licensing and share of server purchase and installation. CentralSquare, LLC System should be fully activated mid-2025.

The council also passed an ordinance giving full-time employees in the City of Warsaw a total of 8 hours of sick leave per month, being a total of twelve days per year. Employees may now accumulate up to 90 days of sick leave instead of 60 days per year.

An ordinance was also passed to approve changing the benefits for covered city employees of the Missouri local government employee’s retirement system (LAGERS). The fiscal officer of the City of Warsaw is authorized to deduct from the wages or salaries of each employee member, the employee contributions and to promptly remit such contributions to LAGERS along with the employer contribution.

The council then passed an ordinance adopting the Police Officer Bill of Rights. The city shall be required to follow the same for all disciplinary action taken by the Warsaw Police Department.

Warsaw City Council members also passed an ordinance to amend the 2024 estimated operating budget to actual adjusted ending balance for all funds within the City of Warsaw, Missouri.

The council also passed a resolution for the City of Warsaw to apply for federal financial assistance from the United States of America for the purpose for Warsaw water storage study. The city is seeking financial assistance acting through the United States Department of Agriculture, Rural Development.

City Administrator Randy Pogue notified the council of estimated completion and start dates on several ongoing projects throughout the city as well.
