Clinton's Wilson Visits MIT

Posted

Clinton High School junior Malachi Wilson recently took the trip of a lifetime to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Malachi was nominated for this event by Mrs. Jessica Shaffer, CHS rootEd Advisor, through the STARS Fly-In Program. Once nominated, Malachi had to go through a highly competitive application process in order to be accepted. This program provides an all-expenses paid trip for rural students throughout the country, allowing students to experience and explore campus life in the Boston area, meet admissions and financial aid experts, as well as current MIT students.
“Throughout the duration of the program I gained more knowledge and insight about the college admissions process and also got to speak with admissions officers who were very helpful and answered my questions,” says Malachi. “I also collaborated with the other 20 students through workshops, scavenger hunts, and exploring Boston. I very much enjoyed this atmosphere and am glad I got to experience this program.”
