Presiding Commissioner Steve Daleske called the Benton County Commission meeting to order at 9:00 AM on March 10 in the Board Room of the Benton County Courthouse. Those present included District 1 Commissioner Larry Berry, District 2 Commissioner Scott Harms and David Malecki, guest.
Commissioner Berry made the motion to accept the bid for red diesel fuel for Road District #1 from MFA Oil Company at a cost of $2.68 per gallon. Commissioner Harms seconded the motion. The motion passed. Other bids were received from Warsaw Oil Company at a cost of $2.90 per gallon and from Zollicker Oil Company at a cost of $2.85 per gallon. The Commissioners accepted the low bid price.
Commissioner Berry made the motion to accept the bid for unleaded gasoline for Road District #1 from Warsaw Oil Company at a cost of $2.55 per gallon.
Commissioner Harms seconded the motion. The motion passed. Other bids were received from Zollicker Oil Company at a cost of $2.585 per gallon and from MFA Oil Company at a cost of $2.68 per gallon. The Commissioners accepted the lowest bid.
The Commissioners reviewed the bids received last week for cold mix asphalt. Commissioners Harms made the motion to accept the bid from Leo O’Laughlin at a cost of $59,69 delivered to the Lincoln and Warsaw sheds. Commissioner Berry seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Benton County Economic Development Director Jo Ann Lane met with the Commissioners to present her monthly report of economic development efforts within the county.
County Treasurer Rick Renno presented his weekly financial report and County Clerk Susan Porterfield submitted bills for approval and payment.
County Collector David Brodersen presented his annual settlement report, noting receipts and distribution for the 2024 fiscal year. County Clerk Porterfield will verify his information as required by Statute.
