Earl William Richey, age 81, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026, at the Lincoln Community Care Center in Lincoln, Missouri.
He was born on November 13, 1944, in Higginsville, Missouri, the son of George W. Richey and Lillie Marie (Heins) Richey. Earl grew up in Corder, Missouri, and graduated from Corder High School.
Earl was employed for thirty years at the General Motors Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Missouri, where he worked as an automobile assembler. In 1993, he retired from General Motors and made Warsaw his permanent home. Following his retirement, Earl continued to stay busy, working as a custodian for the Warsaw School District and the Missouri Department of Conservation. He was also employed as a salesman for Top Notch Products.
Earl was a member of UAW Local #93 in Kansas City, Missouri, as well as the Retired UAW Local in Warsaw. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing and boating. Some of his fondest times were spent on the water, especially pulling his grandchildren on the tube and making memories with his family.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Troy Richey; and two sisters, Jolene Hollis and Dottie Mahnken.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, of the home; one brother, George D. Richey, of Corder, Missouri; two children, Darryl Strathman and his wife, Gena, and Shelia Dulaban, of Sedalia, Missouri; five grandchildren, Dusty Dulaban and his wife, Hillary, of Lincoln, Missouri, Dara Zeier and her husband, Bill, of Arvada, Colorado, Lacey Lange and her husband, Tray, of Lincoln, Missouri, Taylor Slayden and her husband, Bradley, of Lehigh, Kansas, and Allyson Logan and her husband, Christopher, of Cross Timbers, Missouri; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Earl W. Richey will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Missouri. Graveside services and interment will follow the funeral at Riverside Cemetery in Warsaw, Missouri.
