Ella Sue Lutjen, 82, of Lincoln, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Cole Camp. She was born December 10, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of Ella Glenn and Calvin Dut Shaw. Sue graduated from West Memphis High School and later cosmetology school in Santa Rosa, California. Growing up in Memphis, she was invited to the home of Elvis Pressley. As a result, she remained a lifelong fan.
In 1970, she moved to Lincoln, Missouri where she worked for a short time in the local doctor’s office. She later went to work at the Sedalia Teamsters Union office until her retirement. She was baptized into the Zion Lutheran Church and was active in church functions until her health declined.
She is survived by two children, Laura Gillespie (Brian), and Cody Lutjen (Krista), and a brother Glen Nelson (Cathie).
Sue loved being a grandmother/great grandmother and was known as “Numanum” The grand children were Cory Gillespie (Demi), Cassandra Gillespie, Austin Ridgway (Kayla) and Shaylee Lutjen (Spencer Ferrebee). The great grandchildren are Devan and Diahanna Edwards, Elliott and Kennedy Gillespie and Rayni Ferrebee.
At her request, there will be no services. A private graveside service will be held at a later date for the family. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Good Samaritan Care Center, 403 West Main Street, Cole Camp, Missouri.
