A March update of the Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization Grant was released by Kaysinger Regional Planning. The news release states Kaysinger is awaiting input and review of the application and guidelines from the National Park Service. Once both of these items are approved, Kaysinger will notify the region the application is available and an applicant training will be conducted within one week of the announcement.
Kaysinger is working on establishing a team for the following category. They need individuals to help applicants navigate the grant process. You do not need to have grant experience! If you are computer savvy, have a knack for filling out applications, etc. Then this may be a fit for you.
The properties in the region that are on the National Register of Historic Places have been compiled in a list. If you would like that list, or if you want to know if your property is already listed, please call or email Shannon at 417-298-6070.
A few years ago Robert Owens acquired a $10,000 grant to have a study done of Cole Camp and its historic structures. Thanks to that effort the downtown area of Cole Camp is listed as a historic district. This will put Cole Camp ahead of the game in applying for funding.
