Joyce Elaine “Joy” Harms, 79, of rural Windsor, Missouri, passed away late Saturday evening, July 18, 2026, at the Lincoln Community Care Center, Lincoln, Mo.

She was born February 16, 1947, in Lone Jack, Mo., the daughter of Truman Neill and Ruby Velma (Oskins) Neill. On June 15, 1965, she married Larry Joe Harms at the Harmony Baptist Church near Windsor. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2009.

Joy graduated from Lincoln High School in 1965. She worked briefly at the International Shoe Factory in Windsor. She and Larry operated their family farm together for over 40 years. Together they grew a large garden and Joy canned vegetables every year. She enjoyed cooking and baking rolls and fixing Sunday dinner for her family after church. She enjoyed fishing, puzzles, and playing games with her grandsons. She enjoyed watching game shows on television and Hallmark channel movies, especially around Christmastime. She was a talented seamstress and loved to quilt and shop for quilting fabric. In later years, she worked for the Windsor Review and the Windsor Senior Center. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Lincoln.

Survivors include three children, Deanna Williams (Carl), Lincoln, Mo., Mark Harms (Jodi), Windsor, Mo., and Elizabeth Sanders (Jeremy), Sedalia, Mo.; 3 grandsons, Ryan Harms (Brooke), Jesse Sanders, and Lane Sanders; a great-grandson, Henry Jo Harms; 3 step-granddaughters, Darcy Jones (Dale), Becky Vantellman (Jayce), and Sara Ruesink (Austin); 5 step-great-grandchildren, Bryson, Kason, Abby, Bennett, and Stella; a brother, Steve Neill (Jeannette), Sedalia, Mo.; and several brothers and sisters-in-law and nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.

In addition to her husband Larry, she was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Eugene Neill and James Truman Neill; and a sister, Peggy Wren.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the First Baptist Church, Lincoln, Mo. Burial was in the Lincoln Cemetery. The family received friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, July 28, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor. The family suggests contributions to the activities fund for residents at Lincoln Community Care Center (checks payable to LCCC) in care of the funeral home.
