The Lincoln Lady Cardinals came up short against Northwest in a 47-42 final last Friday on homecoming night.
Northwest only had three girls in the scoring column but that ended up more than plenty as junior Gabby Meyer had 31 points in another outstanding performance by the Northwest star.
Fast rising freshman Lily Mellen had 20 points to lead Lincoln in the loss.
It was 12-11 at the end of the first quarter and 24-22 at the half. A 12-9 third quarter made it 36-31 and an 11-11 fourth was too much for the Lady Cardinals to overcome.
Lincoln fell to 7-8 while Northwest improved to 14-3 on the season.
