Larry Lee Knowles, age 87, of Warsaw, formerly of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 17, 2025 at his home. He was born on January 3, 1938 in Centerville, Iowa the son of Orville and Mildred (Hurley) Mowell.
He grew up in Odessa and graduated from Odessa High School where he was a standout in football and basketball. After high school he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving as a medic. Larry was stationed in Greece and Italy for a time. After his honorable discharge he worked in road construction for Tobin, Clarkson and others until his retirement.
In his younger days he enjoyed fishing, hunting and sometimes a party or two with friends or family. He also looked forward to family dinners.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Kimberly Knowles, a son Brian Knowles, a grandson, Bo Knowles and his twin brother, Jerry Knowles.
He is survived by his wife, Pam (Hubbard) Knowles, four children; Larry Knowles, Jr., Mark Burnup, Chris Burnup and Larissa Evans, a brother, Ollie Knowles, a sister Pam Blair, ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Larry L. Knowles will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 24, 2025 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M.
