Despite rain drops falling on their heads, the Lincoln Chamber Egg Hunt, spearheaded by Cathy Burton, was held with diminished numbers gathering the colorful treasures.
At 10:00 AM in the Big City Park is usually the scene of fifty plus kids armed with running shoes and baskets to gather as many of the 500-600 eggs as possible.
This year the participants numbers were between 10 to 15 so with a smaller number of kids, the eggs were laid out on the playground area, which is covered in creek rock, providing a well drained area, instead of the wet marshy turf surrounding the shelter house.
The Lincoln Chamber has hosted an Easter egg hunt for many, many years and it is almost as big a tradition as the 4th of July fireworks. The residents of the Lincoln Community Care Center always lend a helping hand by filling the eggs, which is a tedious, time consuming process.
The Chamber appreciates the residents support in this kid friendly event.
