Despite rain the previous evening and much lower temperatures, the Lincoln Chamber kept the Fright Night celebration in the big City Park rather than taking it indoors.
When it comes to Halloween costumes the residents of Lincoln takes it very seriously, putting creativity and work into how they’ll dress and celebrate the spooky day.
Local business people and even the City police showed up to set up a booth and hand out treats. Officer Haake represented the department and did a great job interacting with the youth of the community.
As to the costumes, I’d have to say local businessman, Jeff Tolliver, dressed as Sasquash and riding his motorcycle, received a lot of attention. Rumor has it he rode the cycle in full “Big Foot” attire to Warsaw and back prior to the party.
Then there was the Kyle Eichler family. The oldest dressed as “The Joker,” while two younger brothers decided to be soldiers so they could include their sister by turning her wheel chair into a military tank.
The Heinrichs family came as “The Flintstones.” Undoubtedly the youngest Trick or Treater was 10 week old Caroline Martin, daughter of Brandon and Allyson Martin. One Young lady was dressed as a beautiful Spanish dancer and there were Dinosauers, a variety of Cowboys, ghosts and witches.
After receiving their treats many of the youth played out their fantasy characters with each other, letting off pent up energy in the outdoors, while the parents visited briefly before moving on with their evening. The Lincoln Chamber has provided this safe place to celebrate Halloween and it was great to see the City Police involved this year too.
