The W-K Holiday Shootout at State Fair is always a fun place to play. On Wednesday night, however, the Lincoln girls gave up a slew of points on second and third attempts in their 47-17 loss to Concordia and Coach Brett Bryant wasn't happy with their performance,

"We got away from our game plan. We didn't block out and we telegraphed our passes," the frustrated coach said.

Bryant started some younger players in hopes of gaining some experience and preparing for playoff time.

Their usual big scorer Alyssa Mellen was held to a three point basket as Lincoln just couldn't score.

It was 11-2 after one, 23-6 at the half and 39-13 after three.

LINCOLN (17): Helland, 6; Yearout, 4; Harvey, 4; Mellen, 3.

CONCORDIA (47): Inman, 16; Hemme, 8; Oetting, 3; Frerking, 12; Mueller, 4; Nelson, 4.

On Saturday, in the Otterville Tournament, Lincoln lost both girls games. Their JV stepped up to play the number one seed Northwest to round out the field. To no surprise, Northwest dominated the young Lincoln Cardinals 64-13. They outscored them 15-0 in the fourth with a running clock.

It was 15-7 after one, 32-11 at the half and 49-13 after three.

Lincoln varsity lost 55-32 to Brunceton-Prairie View later in the program. Alyssa Mellen returned to form putting up 21 points. Only two other girls scored.

The game was competitive for a half but Bunceton led by 12 after three and went on fire in the fourth with a 20 point outburst. It was 11-5 after one, 21-17 at the half and 35-23 after three.

LINCOLN (32): Helland, 6; Yearout, 5; Mellen, 21.

BUNCETON (55): Hasley, 2; Gerke, 7; Hath, 6; Thompson, 4; Alpser, 9; Marcum, 6; Case, 3; Ray, 18.
