Adrian hosted the Lincoln Cardinals on Friday in a Class 1 District 3 contest and came away with a 55-14 victory.
Adrian completely shut down the Cardinals running game as Lincoln managed only 16 yards on 20 carries. Riley Sanders ran 7 times for just 1 yard, Cam Everhart led Lincoln with 11 yards on 11 carries and Braeden Ferguson had 2 rushes for 4 yards.
Sanders fared better in the Cardinals' passing game going 12 for 28 for 250 yards with 2 TD's, 1 2-pointer conversion and 2 interceptions.
Sanders' receivers did put up some impressive numbers as Chase Young hauled in 4 balls for 111 yards with a TD and Dawson Parrott had 7 catches for 113 yards with a TD and 1 2-pointer. Ben Eckhoff and Dustin Wolfe had 1 catch apiece for 17 and 9 yards, respectively.
Lincoln fumbled on their first drive, Adrian's Taylor Johnson later scored and with the kick it was 7-0.
After a 14-8 score, the game was never in doubt as it was 22-8 after one and 36-8 at halftime. It was 55-14 after three with no scoring in the fourth as the clock ticked away on the game, and the Cardinals season.
Adrian is now 9-1 and will host Ash Grove this Friday night while Lincoln's season finishes at 5-6.
