Lola Winifred "Winnie" Estep

Lola Winifred “Winnie” Estep passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 5th at 10:37pm with family by her side. She was 100 years old.
Winnie was born on May 12, 1924, to Clarence Cullin Barth and Edna Marie John son in Henry County, MO. She completed her schooling in Urich, MO, and then went on to marry the love of her life, Carl “Jake” Estep in 1941. They had one child together, a son, Gary.
They moved to Gladstone, MO in the early 1950’s where Winnie resided until 2015. Winnie retired from Hallmark Cards after a 25+ years long career. She was a social butterfly with a zest for life. She loved crafting, making Christmas candy, caring for her family, and giving back to her community. She was a member of the Urich Extension Club, The Grand River Homemakers Club, a local chapter of the Red Hat Society, and several antique car clubs. Winnie also served on the Neighborhood Committee for Bolling Heights in Gladstone, MO from November, 2007 December, 2009. She was an avid supporter of the Urich Museum where several items she donated remain on display. Winnie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter and community servant; a cherished and well-respected member of both the Gladstone and Urich communities.
Winnie was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Chris Goodman, her sister, Doris; brother, Bill; husband, Jake; her son, Gary Junior Estep; and grandson, Carl Brent Estep.
She is survived by daughter in-law, Cheryl (Schlattmann) Estep of Kansas City, MO; grandson, Gary Brett Estep (Amy) of Richmond; granddaughters, Andrea (Estep) Wescott (Dustin) of Olathe, KS; and Julie Estep of Liberty, MO; as well as great-grandchildren, Amber, Abigail, Isabella and Chase and great-great grandsons, Aston and Connor. She also leaves behind beloved nieces Charlene Bishop (Forrest), Karen Bradshaw (Sam), nephew Dayne Kedigh (Kathy),and several great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held December 11, 2024 in Urich Cemetery, Urich, MO with Forrest Bishop officiating.
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
