Mildred Edith Redding

Mildred Edith Redding, 81, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2024 at her home in rural Clinton, Missouri.
Millie was born on September 29, 1943 in Clinton, MO the 12th child of Edward Fields and Maude (Robertson) Fields. She graduated from Calhoun High School in 1961.
She married the love of her life Kenneth Redding on October 13, 1962 and they operated the Lewis Station store and gas station for many years. Two children were born of the marriage, Kevin and Ann.
Millie was a talented seamstress and was employed by Unitog Mfg. for many years until the company closed. After Unitog, she was employed by Adkins Printing and the Calhoun School District as a cook. She was a member of the Calhoun Baptist Church.
Millie was a kind hearted soul. She enjoyed sewing and baking, having Friday lunches with her sisters and spending time with her sister and caregiver Nadine, but got her greatest enjoyment from being Memaw to her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved attending their sporting events and school functions while they were in school. After the grandkids graduated, she still loved spending time with them by playing cards and games. She also loved traveling to Indiana to see and spoil her great grandbabies. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include two children, Kevin (Tina) Redding, Calhoun, MO and Ann (Bret) Bilbruck, Windsor, MO. Four grandchildren, Kelley (Adam) Miller, Bedford, IN, Travis (Taylor) Redding, Clinton, MO, Andy Redding, Calhoun, MO, and Ryan (Brooke) Harms, Lincoln, MO. Two great grandchildren Sylvia and Theodore Miller, and siblings, Gladys Turner, Racine, WI, Charles (Margaret) Fields, Calhoun, MO, Betty Glenn, Springfield, MO, Jack Fields, Clinton, MO, Everett Fields, Clinton, MO, Dorothy Hager, Elkhart, IN, Barbara (Bill) Lewis, Warrensburg, MO, Nadine Pennock, Clinton, MO, sister-in-law Linda Ridgway, along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Millie was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, her parents Edward and Maude Fields, a grandson, Cody Benefeld, sisters, Helen Klick and Elsie Kampe, brothers, Elmer Fields, Robert Fields and Donald Fields.
Funeral services were held January 18, 2025 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with Pastor Joe Hall officiating. Special music included “Amazing Grace, Precious Memories and Peace In the Valley.” The casket bearers were Travis Redding, Ryan Harms, Brian Shepherd, Andy Redding, Adam Miller and Harold Ensor. Interment was in Calhoun Cemetery, Calhoun, MO.
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
