A Grinch quilt, handmade and donated by a local woman, was reverse auctioned on Facebook Marketplace last week to raise money for the playground expansion at Drake Harbor.
Debra Register had the winning bid of $240 bringing the total raised for the playground expansion to $98,439 which the Bibb family will match.
"It's a gift for my daughter's birthday," Register said. "We are happy to support this good cause."
The playground expansion project will triple the play area's rubberized surface, add more play equipment, benches, shade structures and flushing restrooms for everyone to enjoy year-round.
Several additional FUNdraisers for the playground are in the planning stages for 2025.
