LONGTIME RESIDENTS of Benton County, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Stevens, have been active in our community for 70 years. Alvin drove a school bus for 22 years and Elda was a substitute driver. Alvin was a minister and pastor of the Community of Christ church for many years. Alvin and Elda farmed for most of their lives, were volunteers at the WARM House for about 25 years, were members of the Cattleman Association and have been wonderful neighbors and friends to many. They celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary in August and have milestone birthdays in December. Elda will be 96 and Alvin will become a centenarian, as he will turn 100! Alvin and Elda have one son Doug (wife Sue), a granddaughter Devin Lake (husband Kyle) two grandchildren, Colton and Serena.
