After receiving their first win of the season in week 1 by way of forfeit, the Warsaw Wildcats finally got on the field on Friday night, improving to 2-0 with a 32-12 win at Versailles.
It didn't take the Warsaw offense long to get going after a couple of nice runs by Tayten Boyer and Gage Whitaker set up a 22-yard touchdown pass from Boyer to Cameron Seevers.  Logan Gemes' PAT was no good but the Wildcats picked up a quick 6-0 lead.
The green and black defense stymied the Tigers offense all night and after taking possession late in the first, Warsaw chalked up their next score on a 17-yard touchdown run by Boyer.  The 2-point conversion attempt failed but the Wildcats went up, 12-0.
Warsaw notched their only score of the second quarter and last of the first half with 6:13 to go when Boyer eluded would-be tacklers on a 4-yard touchdown run.  The PAT fell short once again, but with the defense pitching a shutout in the opening half, the Wildcats led 18-0.
"We were pleased with our defense, obviously, keeping them out of the endzone in the first half," Warsaw head coach Ryan Boyer said. "Offensively, getting that push up front is important and that's something we'll be working to get better at this week."
After receiving the second half kickoff, Versailles finally got on the board with a 12-yard touchdown run by quarterback Rider Williams that cut their deficit to 18-6.
The Wildcats would answer back with just one tick left on the clock in the third on a 5-yard touchdown run that gave Boyer the "hat trick".  The 2-point attempt failed yet again, btu the Wildcats led 24-6.
With 9:55 left to go in the game, Williams connected with wide receiver Tye Edgar on a 14-yard touchdown that dwindled the 'Cats lead to 24-12, but that was as close as Versailles would get.
Nick Bagley rumbled for a 16-yard touchdown on the ground with 7:35 left to play and Whitaker converted the Wildcats first 2-point conversion of the night for the 32-12 final.
Boyer finished with 183 yards rushing on 19 attempts and found the endzone 3 times.  He also connected on 4 of 8 passing for 109 yards and 1 touchdown.
Whitaker picked up 69 yards on the ground on 12 rushes and Bagley had 46 yards on 9 attempts with 1 touchdown.
Seevers was on the receiving end of 3 passes for 71 yards and 1 TD and Ty Pritchett had 1 catch for 38 yards.
Defensively, the Wildcats were led by Bagley whoo had 5.5 tackles.  Whitaker tallied 4.5 while Drake Murrell and Riley Taylor each had 4.
Boyer had 1 interception and Kage Stevenson recorded 1 quarterback sack.
The Wildcats will host Lafayette County (Higginsville) this Friday in their home opener.  That kickoff is set for 7:00pm
The Huskers are currently ranked #3 in Class 2 with a 2-0 record.  They defeated Lawson in week 2, 56-19.
